Rent: Yet Another MeView

Yes, it was only a matter of time. I need to put in my 1.99999 cents. Anyway, you've read the reviews. Seems like the loser critics are all beside themselves. They're torn. Some dig it, and others loathe it. Care to know why? They're not Rentheads. Technically, neither am I. Don't get me wrong, I loved the show. Wait wait. Let me back up. I loved the music after I watched the show in NYC. See...since my hearing absolutely sucks...I really couldn't hear what the hell they were saying on I could never fully appreciate it. And my seat wasn't too far from the stage. It wasn't orchestra level, but not too far from it. The wife and I saw it less than a year ago. Anyway, back to whatever it was that I was talking about earlier. The movie. I dug it. The wife dug it. Although, I must say that I was a little perplexed that the movie's opening is fairly different from the show. Dramatically different? IMHO, yeah. I was a little taken back that some of lyrics that were once intended to be sung by the characters became spoke word text. However, let's get down to reality here people, it's an adaptation. Come off your high horses. Very few movie adaptations ever fully follow the original sources. You sick sad people probably go to these things just so that you have something new to pick apart. Grease didn't directly follow the original show least that's what I heard once. Here's my take on it without spoilers. If someone were to tell you that a popular Broadway show was touring to your town's small theater and most of the original cast would be there to perform and the tickets would only cost you $9 a head? What would you do? I think I made my point. other thing...
Kudos to the MPAA (not something that I say all that often) for having the moxy to give this film a PG-13 rating. When was the last time you saw a movie that dropped the F-word (not "free" in case you wondering) twice and it did not get an "R"? I thought you could only get away with saying it once to obtain a PG-13. Must remind myself of this fact when I actually sit down to write my screenplay (one of these years).

New Sites, New Domains, Nothing Will Ever Be The Same

I picked up a bunch of free domains, thanks to Belgium. I now own,,, (not Be.a.Zaroff, because we're an selective group) and Pictures of Alexis will be scattered all around,, and (Whoa Jay! Are you simulcasting your wife's pregnancy on multiple sites? I never realized the fascinating life that you lead! I mean, gee wiz...if you keep this may triple the number the hits to your family of sites...I mean, you may go from 1 hit to 3 potential hits each week...and 2 of them may not even be your own. Oh the possibilities!!!) I am also pysched about getting another site off the ground: (aka Dr. Sarcasm Presents "The Bad Service Blog").

The premise of The Bad Service Blog goes a lil' somethin' like dis:

I want to create a site that will give the everyday person a chance to vent about a business that has treated him or her poorly. It could be about a short changing incident at the local convenience store or the really rude manager at the big mall department store. While I feel that reporting bad service to the BBB is a novel idea, they don't seem to have a full listing of businesses that have constantly screwed the customer...and if they do...I don't think it's that easy to find...or I wouldn't be doing this myself. Reseller Ratings is a great idea, but I want to a create a site that will allow anyone to talk about any kind of commercial business such as rotten waitresses, "lemon" used cars, certain portable devices that lose their battery charge after 15 minutes of use, etc. I also plan to link to major news stories (on the web) in regards to large businesses that have potentially engaged in wrong doing based practices towards consumers. If I hear about a relevant class action lawsuit, I plan to link it as well. Again, I want to stress that this is an "EVERYONE" site...and I want to give anyone the ability to speak his or her mind as long as it does not get me in trouble with my future host's terms of service. Sounds really exciting now, doesn't? You know it does, Beeeyatcch!

Lastly, I plan that will come into fruition..............................
.....................................sometime in 2006. Keep waiting by the phone, so you'll be able to call home about it once it arrives. After all, Hanukkah Harry can't deliver all these great gifts that fast.

Chicken Lit is Da Shiznit: A MeView

I don't care what these critic nerds (that's right NERDS) think. To call them geeks would be an insult to Modern Geekity. It's a film based off the "Chicken Little" story but set in modern day. You crazy people are treating this like it's a crime against humanity if you actually enjoy it. I saw the 3-D version and it was friggn' sweet. It also did something that few movies have done for me in the made me laugh several times in the theater. I just wish those pesky kids sitting behind us would have stoppped kicking our seats. But...returning from the segway...if it's playing in 3-D in your town...go see it...but go to a later showing (if you're older than 15). I won't give away any spoilers...but I will say this...if the trailers charmed you...then you pretty much have an idea how the movie's a popcorn movie. It's a popcorn movie that satirizes Hollywood, shrinks, and any form of pop culture that gets in its way. It's not Shakespeare, but then again...I hate Shakespeare anyway. Oh, and the 3-D glasses pwn and they look great on Sonny. I wish I could have brought him to the theater. He's much better behaved than at least half of the audience.

Everynow and then, I like to check out the discount barGAINS at TARget. This link posts what people have found to be clearanced out and it's updated regularly.

Ice Cream Math

Meredith and I had ice cream on Friday Night and it cost about $4.67 for two cones. Bear in mind, this was at some small place that just happened to have ice cream. Now, this got me thinking...Stay with me now...$4.67 is less than $5.00. It normally costs me about $5.00 for ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. So, if buy ice cream for the both of us at Cold Stone, we're looking about ten bucks or so. Now, after Alexis is born (and inflation doesn't kick my ass) it will cost us around fifteen smackers for the three of us. If we have another kid, that's $20! And if they each bring a friend, that's $30. Man, that's a tank of gas!!! Which makes me wonder what is worse, an ice cream visit that cost as much as a weekly fill-up or the fact that gas will always cost me THIRTY BUCKS! Yes, these are the things that keep me up at night.

Yeah, I know...Some people would call me a loser for making the following proclamation: I'm a twentysomething-year-old guy who actually admits to liking Madonna as an artist...and so does my wife (but she's not a loser). Could someone please tell me why a business who advertises that they have 31 different flavor varities of ice cream never seems to have all 31 flavors in stock? Like, do they expect me not to notice these things just because some of them have a separate Dunkin Donuts division tucked away to the right of the register? Also, why is a tip jar needed to scoop ice cream? Somehow, I can't remember the last time I was admitted for a sprained injury when I cracked open that dreaded box of Breyer's.

I changed hosts. I am now using They provide 200MB of space for FREE! Also, I now have my own message boards. I ditched the chatroom due to lack of interest. still needs a little TLC, before it's ready for primetime. You can even get there via Oh, how swanky!!! Eventually, will become a professional-styled portal site which will be tied into in some way that...well...I don't know how yet. Stop asking me! OK? Yeesh, the nerve of you people! But there will also be some exclusive content that will only be available to because...if there wasn't...then why would you go there? Also, to that dude who asked me about how I managed to get a $2're like a month too late. Sorry man, but that's Yahoo's decision, not mine. Oh, one last thing...I really went all out on this I hope you noticed it...I added a counter. I know, very high-tech indeed. It's tough staying on the edge of technology...sometimes, even I don't know how I manage to pull it all off.

No...I really mean it this time! This is important announcement. DO NOT...I repeat...DO NOT use your debit card when paying at the pump. You will be robbed clean! All the major gas companies have a new arrangement with your local banks to take out a $100 pre-authorization from your checking account everytime you swipe your debit card. They used to only pull $1.00 from your account, but now they've really upped the ante. This is no joke! Don't trust me? Fine. Just don't come crying to me when you find out that you have to wait a whole week for those ever-so-trustworthy oil companies to pay you back for the cash that they practically stole from you. I contacted my bank, and they said that they just became aware of the issue and said that they will not release my funds back into my checking account for at least a week (when the authorization actually expires). Although, I was given the option to visit my bank and fill out a despute form, which will take about 2 days to process. Meanwhile, the oh-so poor oil company that took from my wife gets a hefty loan. Oh, in case you're wondering which oil company is ripping us's's the opposite of Moon-O-Co.

A Random Thought By A Colleague

IN the Words of a friend named Chucker...
the little ones are watching you from a far. And the masterminds that undermind the living are near death. One cannot imagine the sound of agony that flows through the mind of that of a starving man. the screaching rage of utter shame knowing that you made nothing of yourself in this world.

(What can I say? I needed new content and FREE is the best kind of content, IMHO. Thanks dude!!!)

VMA's suck...but at least MTV did one thing right

Dear MTV,

Thank you for your craptacular program known as the Video Music Awards. If it wasn't for the Beavis and Butt-head cameo (Beavis mentioning the word "fire" was a nice touch), there would be nothing redeeming about tonight's show. Yes, I am aware that the show is not over yet. However, I feel that Diddy's (I guess he has a problem with the initial of "P" now) monologue which featured a few words that are no stranger to George Carlin, was uninspired and unoriginal. I feel bad for Mr. Carlin, at least his "7 Words" bit was funny and done with far more integrity.

Note to MTV Execs: Try going back to your old tradition of hiring a decent comedian and getting some acts that won't bore me to tears. I hope that I am not the only person out there wishing that there would be a resurgence of 80's bands, metal, grunge, and old skool rap. Call it "Classic MTV" if you will, but I bet the ratings would dwarf the current Post Crappy Carson MTV. One other thing...No More wannabe punk "Headbanger's Ball!" If Riki Rachtman isn't hosting, then there is no show! I mean, would you want P.(layedout) Diddy to host a new "reinvented" version of "Yo! MTV Raps!"??? I think not.

Oh heck with it...I'm going on further. Jessica Simpson. What the hell were you wearing? Somehow, I don't think that's going to be an outfit to be emulated by Barbie. Thanks for blowing it for me. It took the jaws of life to convince my wife that the show wouldn't suck this year and now I have to turn the show off. Man, I thought my hair was woofin'. It's a sad day when your kid sister dresses better than you. First stop MTV, next stop WT.

Baby News!!!

We will know the gender of our baby in three Saturdays (September 17, 2005)...Stay tuned!!! Eventually, I'll shamelessly post our baby's amazon registry on here. Thanks for caring!

Just when the airline industry thought that they did not have to cross off any future movies as potential in-flight screeners, this film comes along. Question for Cillian Murphy: What's it like to be Dennis Hopper at age 29? BTW, how does someone pronouce Cillian anyway?

A Meview of Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo

this is an audio post - click to play
Sorry for the brief post. Allow me to translate what was on my mind at that given moment. The whole "we should give up freedom of speech" rant was the result of me being exhausted at that hour. The thing is, I'm starting to think that maybe the so-called evil producers and film studios may be in the right when they want to start taking more control over the production of future sequels. I mean, do we really want additional Matrix movies? Star Wars Episode 47, Anyone? So, why continue the Deuce Bigalow saga? Can you see it now? In about 15 years, can we expect a new generation of Deuce Bigalow? Deuce's offspring goes backpacking in Amsterdam, you know...because he has to find himself...and then all the hilarity ensues when he discovers that his true for know it's coming...A GIGOLO!!! But until that happens, we need to pad the ol' Bigalow franchise with other unnecessary sequels. I mean, we can have gigolos in space! Even Underwater Gigolos (mermgolos)! After all, we learn in this film that there is already a Gigolo why should the buck stop there? Man, and to think that there aren't any additional better things that billion dollar companies could do with $22 million. Note to Sony, next time you get a bright idea (ie. Deuce Bigalow 3: Gigolo Bugaloo), why not take the cash that you know that you would have lost on some bad idea like that and put it towards something that would be a better looking "hit" to your revenue. Case in point, lower the price of the PSP to something lower than a compact car payment. Think about it: If you lower the price; more people buy the hardware. You take a slight loss on each product sold, but then make it all back in the $$ that you collect from software developers through licensing. This way, everybody wins. Gamers and techie junkies can get a decent product for a reasonable price. Then, you guys make money from software and hardware peripherals. And best of all...Rob Schneider can avoid making his head hurt again because he will not have to develop a spy espionage thriller starring America's favorite gigalo. Whadda ya say guys? Note to Disney: Very wise decision, Mickey. Just don't finance Princess Diaries 9, and you'll stay on my "Good List." Do we have a deal?
